MYOB says my email address is invalid — how can I fix this?

If you’re seeing an error when entering your email address in MYOB Business Payroll, it’s usually due to a small formatting issue. These are easy to fix once identified.

  • Remove extra spaces: Make sure there are no spaces before or after the email — even a tiny hidden space will cause an error.
  • Check for an extra full stop: A period (.) at the end of the email address is a common mistake when copying and pasting.
  • Make sure your email follows the proper format
    • Must include the @ symbol
    • Must include a valid domain (e.g. @gmail.com, @outlook.com)
    • Avoid capital letters, misspellings, or extra characters

Best tip: Try typing the email manually instead of pasting — this helps avoid invisible formatting issues.
