      Why can’t I open the Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel training modules?

      If you are having trouble opening the training modules, it is most likely due to your web browser blocking pop-ups.

      Pop-ups are small windows that appear when you click on certain links. In this case, the pop-up is trying to open your training module, not an advertisement, so it is safe and necessary for your learning. If these are blocked, the module will not open properly.

      To fix this, you will need to change your browser settings to allow pop-ups from our learning platform. Below are step-by-step instructions for each of the most commonly used browsers.

       

      Google Chrome

      If you are using Google Chrome as your web browser, please follow these steps to allow pop-ups from our site:

      1. Open Chrome on your computer.
      2. Go to the page where the pop-up is being blocked.
      3. In the address bar, click the “Pop-up blocked” icon .
      4. Click the link for the pop-up you want to see.
      5. To avoid this issue in the future, choose Always allow pop-ups from [site], then click Done.

       

      Safari

      If you are using Safari as your web browser, please follow these steps to allow pop-ups from our site:

      1. Right-click on the website URL.
      2. Select Settings for... the website you are on:
      3.    Go to the Pop-up Window option and select Allow:

      Mozilla Firefox

      If you are using Mozilla Firefox as your web browser, please follow these steps to allow pop-ups from our site:

      1. Open Firefox and go to the web page where you want to allow pop-ups.
      2. In the URL bar, highlight the entire web address and copy it (either by right-clicking and selecting Copy or using the Edit menu).
      3. Click the three horizontal bars in the upper right corner of the browser toolbar.
      4. Select Options (Windows) or Preferences (macOS).
      5. In the left sidebar, click on Privacy & Security.
      6. Scroll to the Permissions section and ensure the Block pop-up windows checkbox is selected, then click the Exceptions… button next to it.
      7. Paste the copied website address into the Address of website field and click Allow.

       

      If you are using Internet Explorer, we highly recommend switching to Chrome or Firefox, as these browsers are the most compatible with our online learning platform.
