Access the Required Textbook
Within your course, if there is a set textbook you can click on the image of the textbook and this will take you directly to the e-Library where you will need to log in and then "borrow" the textbook from the e-Library.
You can also click on the image below to be taken to the library. Before you access the e-Library we suggest you read the following instructions so you are able to log in without any issue.
Below you will find a step by step guide on how to borrow the textbook you need, how to open the textbook, and how to return the textbook.
Step by Step Guide
Step One
From within the course, you are studying, if there is a textbook click on the name of the textbook in the "Required Reading" or "Suggested Reading" section, and you will be taken directly to the textbook you need.
An example of a link to the textbook from within one of the accounting courses we offer is provided below. Your textbook may be different to this one, and some courses do not have a textbook.
Step Two
From within the e-Library click "Sign In" beside the image of the textbook. The sign-in information is in Step Three below.
Step Three
Sign In to The Career Academy e-Library using the following details:
Username: your email address
Password: CareerAcademy001
Note: The Username is the email address that you registered with us when you enrolled in your course.
Step Four
Once you have logged in you need to click on "Borrow" beside the image of the textbook.
The loan period for all books is two weeks, and at the end of this two-week period the book will automatically be checked back into the library, but don't worry, if you have not finished with the book simply come back to the e-Library and borrow the book again.
Step Five
Once you have successfully borrowed the textbook you need you can read the textbook on screen very easily by clicking on the "Read" button shown below. Step Six
You are limited to borrowing two books at a time, if you want to borrow a third textbook you will need to check in one of the books you have borrowed.
To check in a book go to the e-Library and then from the options at the top select "Loans" and then click "Return" beside the textbook you want to check back into the library. If you attempt to borrow a textbook and already have two checked out a message will appear on-screen letting you know that you need to check a book back into the library. Step Seven
Once you have borrowed the book you will read the content online. Click "Read" to open the book and then click the arrow on the far right side of the page to go to the next page or click the arrow far left side of the page to go to the previous page. If you would like to view the table of contents, click the menu icon (☰) located at the top left corner of the screen. This will open a sidebar that allows you to jump to specific chapters or sections. You can also use the search icon at the top right to find particular words or topics within the book.
Browse the e-Library
In addition to having direct access to the required textbook for your course, you also have access to a wide variety of online textbooks that you are welcome to borrow from the e-Library at any time. Note: not all courses will have a textbook, and there are currently no texts available for Psychology, Animal Care, Computing, or Hospitality programs.
There are currently over 60 textbooks to choose from!
You can view all of the textbooks that we offer by logging into the e-Library (click HERE) with the login details provided in Step Three above.
Once you have logged in click on "Browse" at the top left of the screen and from here you can look through the various textbooks available.
