Payment Suspension, Financial Hardship vs Course Extension

Can I put my course on hold if I’m experiencing financial hardship?

If you are experiencing financial hardship (for example, due to job loss or a change in circumstances), your payments may be reviewed, but this is not the same as a course extension.

Financial Hardship related requests are managed separately by our Cancellations team.

 

Can I defer or suspend my course payments?

Payment deferrals or suspensions are assessed case by case.

When contacting the Cancellations team, include:

  • Your full name
  • Student ID (if available)
  • A brief explanation of your situation

The Cancellations team will review your request and advise you on available options.

 

Is a payment suspension the same as a course extension?

No. These are two separate options.

Payment suspension or review

  • Relates only to your payment plan

Course extension

  • Provides additional time to complete your course
  • Usually involves an extension fee
  • Does not pause or defer payments

 

Can I stop payments by requesting a course extension?

No. A course extension does not suspend or pause payments.
Payments continue unless the Payments team approves a separate arrangement.

 

What if I want to cancel or downgrade my course?

If you are considering cancelling or downgrading:

  • Options may be available within the cooling-off period
  • Financial implications may apply outside the cooling-off period
