Graduation – Frequently Asked Questions

When and where are graduations held?

Online Graduation

Online graduations are held on the last Thursday of every month at 12:00pm (NZ time) and are delivered via Microsoft Teams.

Students who are eligible and have registered for an online graduation will receive the relevant joining information prior to the event.

In-Person Graduation

The annual in-person graduation will be held on 24 June 2027 at:

How can I register for graduation?

Students wishing to attend graduation can register and purchase their graduation tickets through the Career Academy graduation page:

https://careeracademy.co.nz/graduation/

When registering, please ensure you select the correct graduation option, either Online Graduation or In-Person Graduation.

We recommend that students only purchase their graduation ticket once they have completed their applicable course and have paid all outstanding fees associated with that course.

Please note that purchasing a graduation ticket does not, by itself, confirm eligibility to attend. All applicable graduation eligibility requirements must be met before attendance can be approved.

Which graduation am I eligible to attend?

Your eligibility will depend on your programme of study and student status.

New Zealand Students

Students enrolled in an applicable New Zealand programme may be eligible to attend the annual in-person graduation in Auckland, provided all graduation eligibility requirements have been met.

Please note that simply residing in New Zealand does not automatically make a student eligible for the in-person graduation. Students must be enrolled in an applicable New Zealand programme.

Australia, Ireland, UK and International Students

Students enrolled in applicable programmes outside New Zealand may be eligible to attend the online graduation, provided they have successfully completed their applicable course and all associated payments have been paid in full.

Eligible students will be allocated to the appropriate monthly online graduation once their eligibility has been reviewed and confirmed.

How much does graduation cost?

Online Graduation

$49 + GST per student

Annual In-Person Graduation

$189 + GST per student

The in-person graduation ticket includes the graduate and up to three additional family members or guests.

Additional Guests

Additional in-person guests can attend for:

$29 + GST per guest

All attendees must be covered by the applicable graduation ticket or additional guest ticket.

What are the graduation eligibility requirements?

To be eligible to attend graduation, students must meet all applicable requirements before the graduation date.

The requirements include:

• The applicable course must have been successfully completed.
• All payments associated with the applicable course must have been paid in full.
• The student must have purchased the relevant graduation ticket, either online or in person.
• The student must meet the programme and graduation eligibility requirements for the graduation they wish to attend.
• For in-person graduation, all additional guests must have the appropriate additional guest ticket purchased.

Students who have not met the applicable eligibility requirements may not be approved to attend the graduation.

Can my family or friends attend graduation?

In-Person Graduation

Yes. Family members and friends are welcome to attend the in-person graduation, provided they are covered by the graduation ticket or an applicable additional guest ticket.

The standard in-person graduation ticket includes the graduate plus up to three family members or guests. Additional guests can attend where the relevant additional guest tickets have been purchased.

Online Graduation

Yes. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate with you during the online graduation. They can watch alongside you through your Microsoft Teams connection.

Is attending graduation compulsory?

No. Graduation is an optional celebration and is not a requirement for successfully completing your course.

Students who choose not to attend graduation will still receive their course certificate in accordance with the normal certificate issuing process.

Will I receive my course certificate at graduation?

Yes.

Online Graduation

Students attending an online graduation will have their course certificate sent to them prior to the graduation taking place, subject to all applicable eligibility and completion requirements being met.

In-Person Graduation

Students attending the in-person graduation will receive their course certificate at the graduation ceremony, subject to meeting all applicable eligibility requirements.

What happens if I have not completed my course or paid my fees in full?

Students must meet all applicable graduation eligibility requirements before attending graduation.

If your course has not been completed or there are outstanding payments associated with your applicable course, you may not be eligible to attend the scheduled graduation.

Can I attend graduation if I have already attended a previous graduation?

Yes, provided you have subsequently enrolled in and completed a new applicable course that has not previously been awarded at a graduation.

Graduation attendance is linked to the applicable completed programme. If you have already attended a previous graduation for a particular qualification or programme, you would not normally attend another graduation for the same previously awarded qualification.

What are the cancellation, transfer and refund terms and conditions?

Cancellation, transfer and refund conditions are outlined in the terms and conditions provided during the graduation registration and ticket purchase process.

Students are encouraged to review these terms carefully before completing their purchase.
